FAQ
How long does treatment last?
Treatment length is shaped by each patient's clinical needs and the recommended care level. Medical detox usually takes 3 to 10 days. Residential stays span 30 to 90 days, with extensions when medically appropriate. Our IOP runs 8 to 14 weeks, and standard outpatient continues as long as it remains clinically beneficial. Your care team reviews and adjusts the plan at regular intervals to keep pace with your progress.
Do you accept my insurance?
We accept most major health insurance plans, including Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, Cigna, United Healthcare, Kaiser referrals, Humana, Magellan, Tricare, Medicare, and Medi-Cal. Our admissions team verifies benefits promptly, explains coverage specifics and potential out-of-pocket expenses, and discusses available payment arrangements before you finalize your decision.
Is detox medically supervised?
Yes. Medical detoxification at MDCR Rehab operates under 24/7 physician and nursing supervision. Dr. William Tanaka, our Medical Director, leads a specialized team that monitors patients continuously, administers medication-assisted treatment tailored to each individual, and upholds strict safety standards throughout every phase of the withdrawal process.
Can family members participate in treatment?
Family involvement is integral to our model. Residential patients take part in structured family therapy sessions, benefit from dedicated visiting periods on weekends, and have scheduled phone access during the week. Our clinical team also provides psychoeducation for families, helping them understand addiction as a medical condition, rebuild trust through communication skills, and prepare a supportive home environment for their loved one's return.
What aftercare support does MDCR Rehab provide?
Discharge planning begins on your first day with us. Before leaving, your treatment team constructs a comprehensive continuing-care plan that may include a step-down to outpatient services, referrals to sober living communities in San Jose and Santa Clara County, ongoing individual therapy, mutual-support group schedules, and enrollment in our alumni network. We stay available as a resource and point of connection well beyond your time on our campus.
Do you offer specialized care for professionals in the tech industry?
Yes. Given our location in the heart of Silicon Valley, MDCR Rehab has developed programming that addresses the particular stressors facing technology and business professionals — performance pressure, isolation despite connectivity, stimulant misuse, and the stigma that prevents high achievers from seeking help. Our clinicians understand these dynamics and create treatment plans that respect career realities while prioritizing recovery.
